Islam for National Curriculum – Grade 10

The two major sources of the religion of Islam are the Qur’an and Sunnah. These two are the primary sources of legislation where basics of Islamic teachings come from. The Qur’an is the word of Allah (SWT) revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to guide mankind and the Sunnah is its practical translation by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This book is a comprehensive guide in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah.

The textbook entitled, “Islam for Grade 10” has been prepared on the basis of attainable competencies for the students of Grade 10. The subject matter of the textbook is derived from the syllabus of National Curriculum – Sri Lanka and other authentic resources. This will facilitate Muslim young learners to know how they can make best use of this religious knowledge & values in their day-to-day life. The contents of the book are analyzed and explained in such a manner with practical examples, illustrations and system of planned activities, that students are inspired to study the subject with a keen interest.
